Meet our Pastor and his Spouse

Pastor Rick was born in Orange City, IA. When he was 4 his family moved to Marion, New  York near his paternal grandparents. Rose was born and raised in Grand Haven, Michigan.

They both attended Calvin University in Grand Rapids, Michigan  and graduated with teaching degrees. Two years after graduation they met at a small Christian school in New Mexico. They were married in June of 1991. After a few years in New Mexico they moved to Zeeland, Michigan to be closer to family. Rick and Rose were blessed with two children, John, and Annaliese.

In 2006 Rick had a call from God to go to seminary. He attended Calvin Seminary till 2010. Following graduation from seminary, Rick and Rose felt called to plant a church inside the prison in Newton, Iowa. They established a congregation behind the walls of the prison and worked together in Iowa for 13 years.

In 2020 Rose felt called to return to school to become a commissioned pastor.

Following the pandemic, things changed at the prison and Rick and Rose felt God nudging them to move on. Pastor Rick & Rose accepted a call from Lakeview Community in the fall of 2023 and moved to Greece, New York just before Christmas.

Pastor Rick & Rose love Jesus and desire for others to know Him also…
Please plan on meeting Rick and Rose at a special “Meet and Greet” event  at Lakeview Church on Sunday, April 21 between the hours of 2-4 PM.  Of course you are all welcome to attend this event, but beyond that, know you are welcome to worship with us at 10 AM every Sunday morning!
